"Smoke Wave"    Smoke from a controlled burn west of Denver got into mountain wave conditions, creating this remarkable display.  Photo was taken looking southwest from Louisville, Colorado in December of 1998.  The estimated amplitude of the wave was one mile.  Wind is blowing to the left.
